I just around to reading this awesome article recommended by Glenn Vanderburg (@glv) on where the real term, Software Engineering came from. He spoke about it at this year’s QCon London conference. Highly recommended reading. I’m posting the link here.

    Brian Randell is a magnificent bloke. Fantastic research scientist whose efforts smoothed the way for so much work in the 20th century. I’m glad more folks are getting to learn about his work – I admired him hugely when I studied at Newcastle where he was a deserving head of research.
